Ralph Lauren was honored in September 2018 as a “Design Legend” in a special issue of GQ UK. In a first, Ralph Lauren appeared in London via hologram to receive his award, which was presented to him by actor James Norton.

At the Wall Street Journal’s annual event celebrating the world’s most innovative thinkers and creators in November 2018, Ralph Lauren was honored with the Fashion Innovator Award, presented by designer Virgil Abloh. “My life was innovation,” Mr. Lauren said in his acceptance speech.
In November 2018, the British Consulate announced that Ralph Lauren would become the first American designer to receive the distinction of Honorary Knight Commander of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire for his impact in “fashion, business, and philanthropy.
In December 2018, Ralph Lauren was feted as the guest of honor at the French-American Foundation’s annual gala dinner in the Galerie des Batailles at the Château de Versailles, in celebration of his longtime love of French culture and style.
